Wat Pho (Temple of the Largest Reclining Buddha)

Within the first two weeks, the director of the program had several tours lined up for us to help us get better acquainted with Bangkok..one of which was a visit to Wat Pho.

So this is the largest Reclining Buddha in the world. My friends and I took a cab there because that was the fastest and most convenient way to get there..others took the klong(I'll talk about this boat in another post). We got there earlier than everyone and waited for them for about 45 minutes..(I had some grilled chicken from the street..delicious..I should probably make a post about street food..I will :)  So finally everyone got there and we went in to admire the Buddha..

Absolutely stunning! This statue lay about 160 ft and had beautiful features which I learned later what his features signified. Equally as beautiful were the murals on the wall..wow..Wat Pho is a definitely must see if you should visit Thailand...they also have a school of Traditional Thai massage which I recommend you get as well..I got one for 30 minutes..very soothing. Can't say much..gotta experience it!
