Wat Pho (Temple of the Largest Reclining Buddha)

Within the first two weeks, the director of the program had several tours lined up for us to help us get better acquainted with Bangkok..one of which was a visit to Wat Pho.

So this is the largest Reclining Buddha in the world. My friends and I took a cab there because that was the fastest and most convenient way to get there..others took the klong(I'll talk about this boat in another post). We got there earlier than everyone and waited for them for about 45 minutes..(I had some grilled chicken from the street..delicious..I should probably make a post about street food..I will :)  So finally everyone got there and we went in to admire the Buddha..

Absolutely stunning! This statue lay about 160 ft and had beautiful features which I learned later what his features signified. Equally as beautiful were the murals on the wall..wow..Wat Pho is a definitely must see if you should visit Thailand...they also have a school of Traditional Thai massage which I recommend you get as well..I got one for 30 minutes..very soothing. Can't say much..gotta experience it!

Siam Water Park!

We went to a water park today..with tons of rides(smiling)..I love rides! And the park had the largest wave pool in the world..it's held this record since 2009..pretty impressive. It was great! Nothing special happened there, I just had a good time:)

True Coffee vs Starbucks

I'm not a big coffee or tea person but I looooooove starbucks' Chai Tea! Once in a while I'll get a frappuccino but I blame my sister for my Chai Tea addiction. When I told her I'd never had Chai before she said.."REALLY? We should get some today".. And those were the words that may have me packing to Chai tea or Starbucks rehab..if there's anything like that. When I went back to campus(in America)..I saw myself walking to Starbucks every day to order the exact same thing..a grande iced Chai..my willpower absolutely defeated..sigh.. But anyway, back to True Coffee.

My friends and I went on a little adventure to the little shops around campus..and found this coffee shop..It smelled great the moment I walked in and I immediately scanned their coffees and teas to see what they had..no chai..but it's ok..I decided to try the "Caramel Twist Cream"...OMG...sometimes I wish I was a writing major to describe feelings like this..It was wonderful! Absolutely loved it..I'm going back there..and I'm getting the almond croissant again too..:)

Thai speaking parrots...too cute:)

I couldn't get the red parrot to say anything in Thai but the white one was definitely on it's A game this morning :)..It made my morning...I need to figure out what it's saying though.

Sorry the video is sideways..I got too excited when it started speaking.

Club members selling books..and playing the guitar:)

Ok so this was really interesting. During our tour of the campus, we passed by a group of kids who were selling some notebooks to help promote their club I guess..but the two boys played the guitar and sang!! How cute!
